We’re Working to Make Capstone Music even Better – In-Class Sessions Return!

Dear Capstone Music friends and family,

First of all, to those of you who are able to stick with your lessons this summer, THANK YOU for your support. It means the world to us! One thing we’ve learned without a doubt is that Capstone Music is not a building, or even just a business, it is a community. Thank you for rolling with the punches as we’ve all grown into new ways of operating in our changing world.

While your students have been taking lessons remotely, we have seized the opportunity to re-imagine Capstone Music for the future. We made the tough decision to close our second location at Capstone South and have focused our efforts on revitalizing Capstone North, making sure every instrument and all the supporting tech is up to date as the teaching rooms are refreshed, building in the structure needed to allow for sustainable health and safety practices.

We’ve adopted a helpful paradigm for managing our response to COVID. This plan will ensure we continue to deliver Burlington’s Best Music lessons to our student community!

1. SURVIVE – almost there! Cutting our second location, while a tough call, is the big move that will make Capstone Music sustainable for the future. We’ve also chosen not to run camps this summer so we can throw all our energy into entering the second phase of our response, which is …

2. REVIVE – in process now behind the scenes at Capstone North where we are deep cleaning, building new rooms, and rolling out enhanced admin processes. We plan to start the relaunch of in-person lessons in the last half of August 2020.

3. THRIVE – Look out 2021, here we come! Capstone Music will be streamlined, responsive and future-ready!

Stick with us as we transition from ‘Survive’ to ‘Revive’ mode this summer and work to create an even more awesome musical experience for our Capstone students and families to return to.

Stay tuned (pun intended) for further developments on resuming in-person lessons next month. We’ll keep everyone informed on the new protocols and safety requirements so we can reunite you with your teachers with full confidence. We can’t wait to show off our new space and see your smiling faces again!

Enjoy the summer, wash those hands, and keep making music!

LESSON POLICY REMINDERS:
A quick refresher on our policies, as we always get questions on taking breaks through the summer months; we know life is busy and we all need a little wiggle room for our weekly commitments, so we give each student up to 4 ‘floater days’ per year (any 2 days between September and June, and any 2 days in July and August) that can be used with notice (before the end of the previous month) to skip a lesson at no charge. If you are moving on from music lessons, or taking a longer break, our policy requires 30 days cancellation notice so we can be fair to our teachers. We always do our best to get you back in where you left off on your return, but we are unable to hold specific time slots for students. As always, you are billed monthly at the end of each month for the following month’s lessons and the amount will vary depending on how many lessons fall into that month.
