Ameera Razek – Piano Instruction
Since developing an interest in piano during high school, Ameera began as a flautist and later a self-taught pianist. She soon decided to make music a more serious part of her life, receiving lessons from local accomplished musicians and professors in the Hamilton area.
She has since dedicated her time to music, recently graduating from the Applied Music Program at Mohawk College where she realized her passion for teaching music. Throughout her time at Mohawk, Ameera acted as a Teacher’s Assistant and Peer Tutor for a number of music courses including theory (classical and jazz), ear training, music technology, and one-on-one piano lessons.
With an appreciation for all things music, Ameera takes every opportunity to learn new styles and instruments such as the woodwind, brass and string families, as well as jazz piano. Currently in the final year of her Bachelor of Music at Brock University, she has now been a choir singer for six years, in both classical and jazz choirs. In addition to choir, Ameera is also a percussionist in the Brock Wind Ensemble, now finding her way through the percussion family.
Following her final year at Brock, Ameera plans to further her education by obtaining a Masters Degree in Music Education.
